It is time for rhe FCCLA elementary poptab war. The class that collects the most will be given a sweet treat.
Today the 6th and 7th graders from Ms Kogel's ELA classes read the short stories they wrote. Students were given random words and asked to write a short story using those words with their partners. They did a great job!
JH Track Meet and Softball Games have both been cancelled for today. Practice will take place instead.
Softball has been rescheduled for May 6th.

Due to this week being Severe Weather Preparedness Week, we participated in a school-wide tornado drill this morning. Each classroom has a designated safe space that they go to. This week serves as an opportunity to increase awareness and response to summer severe weather hazards.
Join us in wishing Brad and Mary Wienbar a fond farewell. They will be deeply missed by our school and community!

First Softball game of the year! Triangular in Desmet vs Deubrook/McCook. The first game is at 4:00!
Last Friday, Mr Gross’ 4th-8th grade class at the Pearl Creek Colony did an experiment to take the DNA out of strawberries.
The Athletic Banquet will be on April 15th, 6:30 pm in Lake Preston.
Preschool had fun practicing writing their letters in shaving cream last week!
Fifth grade students knew the best thing to do on a snowy day! READ!!! & to make it even more fun they read by flashlight!
Due to the weather, we will NOT be attending the DSU Indoor Track meet today.
We will have a short split practice instead.
Golf will also have a short split practice.

Students across the DVC Conference met in Lake Preston on Wednesday for a "Student Leadership Conference". Natalie, Lucas, Brycen, and Madelyn joined 76 other students to come up with ideas to help better their schools and athletic departments. How do we get kids out for sports? How do we keep kids out for sports? How do we create a fun and safe atmosphere at school and athletic events? We are excited to see what they come up with!
We wish our State AAU Wrestlers the best of luck this weekend! We will be cheering loud and proud for you!
