About Me

Hello! I'm Mr Wipf and I teach 7-12 social studies here at Iroquois!I am also the Athletic Director. The 2024-2025 school year will be my second year teaching, am I am so excited to be back at Iroquois for another year! Here's a little bit about me! I grew up on an acreage in rural Parker/Chancellor South Dakota. On our acreage we raised sheep. I attended Chancellor Elementary and Lennox MS/HS - graduating in 2019. I am blessed with the best parents I could ever ask for, Jim and Gayla, 3 amazing sisters, Emily, Katelin, and Kali, a brother-in-law, Hunter, and the most adorable nephew, Weston!

Growing up I participated in baseball, football, basketball, track, cross country, marching band, jazz band, concert band, pep band, Augie Honor Band, concert choir, show choir, jazz choir, Allstate Chorus, National Honor Society, FCA, and youth group. I attended the greatest school in the world, South Dakota State University, to earn my Bachelors degree. I majored in history, while minoring in geography and religious studies; I also earned a coaching certificate. While in college I was active in both Oasis and Navigators, serving on the student leadership team for the latter.

My first love was and will always will be baseball! I am a HUGE sports fan, cheering on my Minnesota Twins and LA Rams. My dad and I usually make it to about 3 Twins' games a year, even though they let me down every year (life of a MN sports fan!). One of my biggest hobbies is playing/listening to music. Many consider me an "old soul" due to the genre of music I listen to. My musical playlists consists of The Beatles, The Beach Boys, Queen, Green Day, Nickelback, Mat Kearney, Needtobreathe, Skillet, Relient K, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. My favorite band, though, is an Indie/Rock group called Switchfoot (I definitely recommend!) My students always make fun of me singing in class, but I really do hope that it brings a smile to there face (at the cost of my dignity ;). I also enjoy making music! I am active in my church praise band, playing guitar and singing! In my free time you can also find me playing fantasy football, reading history books, hanging out with friends, collecting baseball cards, and watching my favorite TV shows and athletic events.

Along with my teaching responsibilities, I also do a number of other things in the district. I am the Fellowship of Christian Athletes advisor. Myself and roughly 20 students make up this group. I'm looking forward to continuing this and to growing an even larger outreach!

I also have a few coaching responsibilities. I am an assistant coach for both our Iroquois-Lake Preston football team (Go Sharks!) and our Kingsbury County (Iroquois, Lake Preston, Desmet) softball team (Go Knights!).

I am so blessed to be able to say that I love showing up to my job every single day! The kids are great and I am excited to see them grow up to be great citizens! If you have any questions or need to reach out, feel free to do so!

Go Chiefs! Go Sharks! Go Knights! We are Iroquois!
