Welcome to 3rd Grade!

Hopefully you have been able to enjoy the summer with your family and friends!  We are about to begin the 2021-2022 school year and it is an honor to be a part of the Iroquois School District for the 2nd year.  Allow me a few minutes of your time to introduce myself and share my goals for the upcoming year.

My name is Stacy Uttecht.  I live in Mitchell with my son, Zachary, and my English Mastiff, Artymus.  Zachary is 21 and attends the Lifequest program full time.  His goal is to get his own apartment and take some college classes.  Artymus usually just lays around wanting her belly rubbed and demanding all my attention!  My oldest daughter, Brittany, and my grandson, Cartor, also live in Mitchell.  Cartor just turned 4 in April, and he will be starting Preschool in the Fall.  It’s a very exciting time!  Paige, my other daughter, just moved to Sioux Falls this summer.  She works at Walgreens as a Beauty Consultant and will be taking classes to become a beautician. 

My goal as an educator is to provide a safe and stimulating learning environment where all students grow to achieve their goals.  I believe each student is capable of great things!  I will provide opportunities to expand their thinking and teach them the skills to be effective problem solvers.  A newsletter will be sent home each week with important dates and information for your family.  Once I finalize the schedule, I will send you a copy so you will be aware of what our week looks like. 

I hope to see you at school on August 10 for Open House!  Bring your school supplies and prepare your desk for the first day of school on August 18.  Communication is the key to your child’s success, so if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email or call me at the school.  Enjoy the next couple weeks!!
