Mrs. Sandra Jones has been involved in education for the past 25 years. She began her career in 1989 in the small town of Midland, SD as a Librarian and American History teacher. She met and married, Patrick Jones, and moved to Wessington Springs, SD. Mrs. Jones taught several subjects while in Wessington Springs: computer technology K-12, social sciences, reading, coaching, 6-12 student councils, fundraising, and many other community activities.
Mrs. Jones left Wessington Springs in the spring of 2012. She took a year off and worked at a local store and returned to education in 2013 by teaching in Lower Brule Elementary teaching fourth grade and helping with reading and math integration to improve standard test scores.
Mrs. Jones left Lower Brule and is currently in the Iroquois School District. She is teaching reading and ELA to grades 6, 7, and 8 with fifth grade Title I instruction, and is enjoying getting to know the students and their families.
Patrick and Sandra have three children: Braden, Monica, and Piper. Braden is currently attending USD majoring in biology, Monica is attending Lake Area Tech majoring in Ag Business, and Piper is an 8th grader. Mrs. Jones is involved with following her kids and husband in their activities, scrapbooking, camping, and continuing professional education.
